Review: Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort - The Crooked Surf

ALOHA! One of my favorite blog posts to do...about food! After staying at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort* for three weeks, I was able to try out many items on the menu of The Crooked Surf. The Crooked Surf is the hotel's go-to spot for drinks, lunch & dinner, wide-screen TV's for games, and meeting people from all over the world. The Crooked Surf shares seating with the future Moamoa Hawaiian Fish House on the property. It's a perfect place to eat in groups, date night, or by yourself at the bar (and meet new people from around the world).

*The Courtyard Kauai at Coconut Beach has been officially re-branded to Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort as of October 2019.

I loved ordering from the Crooked Surf while tanning by the pool or easy dinners after a long day at the beach. It was so convenient, and the staff is incredibly nice! They made an effort to remember their guests and special needs, and I really appreciated that. Here are some of my favorite items from the menu:

AHI TUNA NACHOS

Wonton chips, avocado, unagi sauce, sriracha mayo, watermelon radish

Opinion: Loved this as a tasty treat. It was very fulling and creamy! Definitely perfect to share in a group.

CRAB RANGOON

Cream cheese, crab, turmeric, pineapple relish, cilantro

Opinion: One of my FAVORITES on the menu!! I loved how you could taste crab in every bite.

SEARED AHI TUNA BLT

Thick cut bacon, heirloom tomato, butter leaf lettuce, basil mayo

Opinion: Love anything with bacon in it! Such a great twist to a classic item.

BLACKED FISH TACOS

Mahi, flour tortilla, cabbage, avocado, pico, cilantro

Opinion: Fish tacos that are easy to split for a lighter fare.

BIG KAHUNA BURGER

Kobe beef, SPAM, pineapple, pepper jack cheese, teriyaki, chili aioli, brioche

Opinion: It was my first time having SPAM! Wasn't too bad. Favorite part of the burger was the pineapple with teriyaki sauce on the burger!

SPECIAL REQUEST

Grilled chicken loaded with veggies

Opinion: This was my go-to meal!! To stay healthy while on vacation, this bowl helped prevent bloating and keep my tummy flat while on vacation.

MAI TAI

Classic mai tai provided as welcome gift for all guests at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

Opinion: Really great welcome drink! If you want more flavor and alcohol, try The 1944 drink.

ONO BUCK

Diplomatico rum, almond, lime, pineapple, topped with ginger beer

Opinion: Reminds me of a tropical Moscow Mule!

Stay tuned for my final blog post: Part 2 of my Kauai trip blog! I'll be discussing solo travel experience, and what other adventures have been happening in Kauai.
