New Dance Moves: Ballroom Dancing in NYC

As many of my readers know, I love to try out new experiences. If I am able to share the experience with my boyfriend and close friends, that makes it even more memorable. One of my friends, Molly, reached out to me with a experience she wanted to try out.....ballroom dancing. The last time I participated in ballroom dancing was in 6th grade, and I was too young to remember a lot of the moves. So, we convinced our boyfriends that this would be a fun idea, and signed up for ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire Dance Studios NY Downtown.

The location of the studio was amazing. We took the elevator upstairs to a gorgeous, small ballroom that had large windows overlooking lower Manhattan. It made us feel like we were dancing above the clouds!

I highly encourage you to watch the experience! Molly recorded the video on her Youtube channel:

We learned three different dances: Tango, Fox Trot and a little Salsa! I also loved that Dan could lead us dancing because he started to get really into it! I appreciate his willingness to step out of his comfort zone - best boyfriend award goes to him!

The studio offers many dance class opportunities for private and social classes 7 days a week. The dance studio also mentioned there was a younger crowd compared to other studios, so I highly suggest to sign up if you are looking for a younger group of people to dance beside you!

Thank you Fred Astaire Studios for letting us come in for an awesome experience!

Location (the spot we visited):

291 Broadway, Suite 900

New York, NY 10007
